Our Brief

Our team work with our clients in lots of different ways, but the end result is always the same, first class, professional, sound and reliable design expertise.

In the instance of Leeds Marriott we have been commissioned to work on a consultancy basis with the hotels existing designers, TPM Studios, to provide expertise and insight to help shape the interior design for their latest refurbishment project.

Our Approach

TPM’s Designers produce a narrative document based on the history of the building and local area. This focuses on how to tell the story of the hotel through design, connecting guests with the history of the hotel whilst making it relevant to present day.

In a previous life, the building was owned by a tailor who pioneered ready to wear fashion. Combine this with a local reputation for fabric production in the area, and the result is a fashion, textiles and tailoring narrative.

Our Design Team build on this narrative to create a document containing mood images and colour palette, fabric and furniture selections to get the ball rolling. A workshop session with the wider Design team helps expand the ideas and set the design direction for the project.

The Results

Collaboration is at the heart of this project. The workshop offers the opportunity for the entire design team and architect to generate ideas, talk through solutions, raise potential issues and focus on how to reach the end result and deliver the best possible customer experience.

This joined up way of thinking allows a collaborative vision for the hotel re-design, and will result in the creation of a warm, friendly local and relatable design for the guests to connect with and enjoy.
